Request
Maximizing camera capabilities
Olympus aimed to provide a distinctive solution to their style-conscious customers, urging them to exploit the full potential of their O-MD & PEN-series cameras. They desired tutorial videos that would not only serve as an educational tool but would also strike a chord with a chic, contemporary audience.
True north
Beyond just a tutorial
To engage a younger, style-aware audience, we approached tutorials differently. Using a first-person point of view, we let viewers experience the camera as it’s used, placing them inside real, relatable moments. The focus was not just on showing features, but on making the learning feel natural, relevant, and easy to follow.
Crafting immersive experiences, one frame at a time.
Ideation
Stories through the lens
To keep tutorials engaging for an audience with a short attention span, we focused on showing rather than explaining. The concept was built around a first-person perspective, placing the viewer directly in the position of the photographer and letting them experience the camera as it’s being used.
By looking through the eyes of the creator, each story naturally reveals both the technical features and the creative possibilities without slowing things down. This approach keeps the content easy to follow, while still delivering depth and understanding.
The more people see what’s possible in real situations, the more confident they become using the camera themselves, turning users into advocates of the product.
Creation
More than just tutorials
Shot across Denmark and the Netherlands, the tutorial series was built around real locations and authentic moments. We worked with creators who genuinely use the product, capturing how the camera fits into their everyday lives rather than staging idealized scenarios.
The focus throughout production was to keep everything natural and unforced. By combining relatable people, real settings, and a documentary-style approach, we created tutorials that feel honest, easy to follow, and closely connected to how the camera is actually used.
Deliverables
The production included three days of filming across multiple locations in Copenhagen, five days of shooting in the Netherlands, followed by ten days of editing and localisation in seven languages.
Our imagination at work
By using the power of storytelling and real-life user situations, we showed what the Olympus camera can truly do beyond its technical features. Instead of relying on traditional tutorials, we created content that follows how people actually use the camera in everyday moments, making each example relatable and easy to understand.
The focus was on keeping everything light, clear, and easy to digest, while still offering meaningful insight into the camera’s capabilities. This approach helps people not just learn how it works, but see its potential in a way that feels natural, practical, and relevant to their own experience.
"It wasn't just about creating clips; we wanted them to resonate as 'user-generated content'. Balancing multiple scenic locations in a tight shooting schedule was challenging, but the results were beyond rewarding."
